This month has been a full month here at the Leisure Centre. We have had a busy time with the October half term holidays, a new term of swimming lessons, the continuation of our Wise Craic socials, new Yoga class times and all our other classes.

This fun, festive and family orientated event is open to everyone and we’re hoping for a bumper turnout this year.
Don your Santa hat, wrap some tinsel around your neck and walk, jog or run from Morar train station to the Steam Inn in Mallaig. A roaring fire, a cauldron of mulled wine and warm mince pies will await you!
There is no entry fee this year; just donations at the Steam Inn which will go towards our refurbishment programme.
Please get in touch with us either by phone or email and we will send you out an entry form, or pick one up from the Leisure Centre before 9th December.
CHILDRENS BLOCK SWIMMING LESSONS
The October holidays are now over, and the children are back at school. The new swimming lessons will start the week commencing 30th October, with a few minor adjustments.
An email was sent out to all parents, and Emily has been in touch with the parents of children who have moved groups, but has not been able to get a hold of everyone!
If you could please email us with your latest phone number and email address it would be much appreciated!
ADULT SWIMMING LESSONS
We are starting a block Adult Improvers Swimming lessons on Thursday Evening and are for people who are competent swimmers and are wanting to improve their stroke.
They will be on from 2000 to 2045, and will be taught by Morag.
We have space for 6 people and it is a first come first serve basis for places, so if you would like to enrol please contact the Centre as soon as possible to confirm your spot for a (?) week block!
We are now in position to deliver both Rookies for primary school children and Lifesaving for secondary school and above on Thursdays.
Survive & Save: 1600-1700
These will run from 2nd November – 21st December.
The previous sessions have been going from strength to strength with a regular number of people now attending including adults, teenagers and primary school age children.
The skills that will be gained at these classes are invaluable and important life skills that are relevant to living by the sea.
MALLAIG & DISTRICT CANOE CLUB
Pool sessions take over every Wednesday from 1800-2100 and will run until early December. They aim to coach paddling skills and educate about the sport.
The adult sessions are aimed at beginners who want to practice their skills with the aid of coaches in the warmth of the pool.
Junior sessions: 1800-2000
Adult sessions: 2000-2100
Spaces are limited, so if you would like to come along please contact Mike Kingswood via email (email@example.com)
Wise Craic is on every Tuesday morning from 1100 until 1230.
If you are lucky enough to be over 55 (ish) you can enjoy exclusive use of the Centre, including the gym, pool, and sauna then followed by a bowl of hot soup, cheese/biscuits and cake all for a small donation.
It is a great way to keep active and a social event too.
The Tuesday Yoga (1300-1400) is proving very popular! A big thank you to everyone who is coming along. We do, however, only have capacity to have 10 people in the class.
If you would like to attend the lessons, please contact us by phone or email to confirm a place.
There are quite a few new members who need to collect their cards from reception. If you’ve applied in the last few months, please call in and pick them up so that you can start enjoying the benefits being a member brings.
